Privacy policy
We collect as little personal data as possible. Our calculators run in your browser, and you can use all of them without giving us an email address.
1. Who is responsible
The provider named in the Impressum. For any privacy question, use our contact form and pick “My data: access, correction or deletion”.
2. Hosting
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. When you visit, Netlify processes technical data such as your IP address, the time of access, the page requested and your browser type. This is needed to deliver the site securely (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Netlify may process data in the USA. Transfers rely on Netlify’s data processing agreement with standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
3. Cookies, device storage and tracking
This website sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and uses no analytics, advertising pixels or tracking. All fonts are stored on our own server. Because nothing optional is in use, we don’t show a cookie banner. You can check this any time under “Privacy settings” in the footer.
If we ever add an optional service, it will stay switched off until you agree (§ 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You’ll get the same choice to accept or reject, and you can withdraw consent at any time from the footer. In that case your choice, its date and the version of this notice are saved in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask again on every page.
4. Calculators
All calculations happen in your browser. What you type is not sent to us or anyone else, and it is not stored. Some calculator links contain example numbers in the address. Share such a link only if you are comfortable with that.
5. Forms: results by email, ETF checklist and enquiries
Using a form is always optional. Data is sent only when you press the send button. Our forms are processed with Google Apps Script, Gmail and Google Sheets, services of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google may also process data in the USA. Transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
- “Email me my results” and “Save my comparison”. We send the figures you see on screen to your email address, once, from our Gmail account. We delete our copy of that email straight after sending, and Gmail removes it completely within 30 days. Legal basis: your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
- Our contact list. When you use any form, we save your email address, your name and company if you gave them, the form or tool you used, a general topic, your message (for questions and enquiries only) and the date in a Google Sheet that only our two founders can open. It never contains your calculator figures or your IP address. We use it to answer you and to understand which tools are useful (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for enquiries, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR for the list of tool users). You can object at any time through the contact form, and we’ll delete your entry.
- Notifications to our team. Questions and enquiries from employers or partners are emailed to our two team inboxes (Daniel Yáñez and Daniel Clavijo) right away, so one of us can reply. Requests for results or the checklist reach us once a day as a short summary with email addresses and tool names, without figures.
- Questions. Please don’t send bank details or account numbers.
Requesting results or the checklist never signs you up for marketing emails. We don’t send a newsletter at the moment. If we start one, you’ll only get it after you sign up separately and confirm by email.
How long we keep it: entries in our contact list and enquiry emails are deleted when they are no longer needed, at the latest 12 months after the last contact, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
6. Videos and external links
Video lessons, once published, load from the video host only after you press play. Until then no data is sent to it. We link to Instagram, to official sources and to partner pages. These services receive your data only when you click a link and visit them. Their own privacy policies apply there.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR) and to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. To use any of these rights, write to us through the contact form. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
8. Financial education disclaimer
Daniel In Germany Finance provides general financial education. Our guides, examples and calculators are not financial, investment, tax or legal advice and are not a recommendation to buy or sell any product. Calculator results are estimates based on the assumptions shown. Actual outcomes differ, and investments can lose value. Partner content is labelled and reflects the partner’s view.
