What could €100 a month turn into?

Move the sliders and see what time, monthly payments and fund costs do. It’s a hypothetical example, not a forecast, and if you enter a bad market, the result goes down too.

Assumptions and limits
  • The return is an effective yearly rate. 6% a year compounds to exactly 6% a year.
  • Monthly payments are added at the end of each month. The starting amount is invested at the start.
  • The fund cost is taken from the return each year: net factor = (1 + return) × (1 − TER).
  • “Effect of fund costs” is the difference to the same plan with zero costs. It includes the growth those costs would have earned, so it is more than the fees themselves.
  • Not included: taxes, order fees, spreads, tracking difference and currency effects.
  • “Today’s money” divides each value by inflation to show buying power at the start.
