Retirement Gap Calculator
Will your pension cover the life you want?
Enter what you’d like to spend in retirement and what you expect from pensions, both in today’s euros. You’ll see the gap, the savings that could cover it and a monthly amount to get there. The returns are your assumptions, not promises.
The retirement age must be later than your age today.
A Renteninformation shows a gross pension. Tax and health insurance come off later. If your spending is a net figure, adjust the pension to a comparable amount and tick the box.
In 32 years that is about €0 a month.
Your expected income covers your planned spending. No extra capital is needed in this scenario.
A mathematical illustration with constant returns. It is not an official pension forecast, and real returns vary. A flat monthly saving loses buying power over time.
How it is calculated
Gap = spending − pension − other income, all in today’s euros. Capital needed = the present value of that monthly gap over the payout years, at your real return after inflation, paid at the end of each month. It is then inflated to the retirement year. The saving amount is the flat monthly payment that, at your return while saving, grows into that capital, after counting what you have already saved.
Not included: taxes, health insurance in retirement, pension increases, costs, and the risk of living longer than planned.
- TodayYour age and what you have saved.
- Saving yearsMonthly saving at your assumed return.
- Retirement startsThe target capital should be ready.
- Payout yearsCapital fills the monthly gap, at your assumed real return.
